Peanut Butter drive is underway for the month of November
In a joint effort to combat childhood food insecurity in San Diego County, Torrey Holistics today announced a partnership with Feeding Kids First and their Got Your Back San Diego program. With over 20,000 children in San Diego schools unsure of when or where their next meal will come from, Torrey Holistics is committed to making a difference in the community.
For the month of November, Torrey Holistics patients who donate a 16oz plastic jar of peanut butter to the drive will receive a free Torrey Holistics pre-roll. A free pre-roll will also be given for each $10 donation to Got Your Back San Diego. According to Torrey Holistics representative Christine
Bordenave, “When we heard that a donation of only $30 is sufficient to feed a child for a month and that peanut butter is the number one requested source of sustained nourishment for a child, we felt inspired to get involved”.
All donations will be collected at the door of the San Diego dispensary at 10671 Roselle Street, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92121. More information or interviews available upon request.

About Feeding Kids First and Got Your Back San Diego
Got Your Back San Diego is a program originated by Feeding Kids First, a registered 501c3 non-profit
organization in San Diego, CA. Founded in 2010 by Bill & Sue McLeod, Got Your Back San Diego is a
backpack food assistance program for children who depend upon school lunch programs as their
primary source of nutrition Monday through Friday, but are left with little or nothing of nutritional
value to eat on weekends. Got Your Back San Diego volunteers fill backpacks with enough nutritious
food to sustain these children through the weekend, and discreetly deliver the backpacks to the
children’s schools each week.
