IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEDICARE RECIPIENTS

The Social Security Administration recently sent a notice for Medicare premium plan recipients to check in with Medicare.gov or your local insurance broker to verify that you advantage plans and prescription plans are paid up in full.

If you have setup auto pay out of your Social Security check, it’s possible that some payments may have been missed. The result

is that many beneficiaries are now being billed for premiums that they thought were already collected and paid for through their social security benefit checks.

Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage companies are sending out notices to those affected, but many people do not read these notices because they assume it may be junk mail or trivial communications.

Failure to pay these bills in the time allotted can cause you to lose coverage. This may cause some individuals a hardship because they are being required to pay up to 4 months of premiums that they may not have been prepared to cover.

You can call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). TTY users can call 1-877-486-2048.

This notice is provided to you by Secure Benefits Alliance in Reisterstown, MD.
