The laws surrounding driver’s education in Georgia are changing. Starting July 1 2021, the Georgia House Bill 466 will mandate that 17-year-olds in Georgia will have to successfully complete an approved Joshua’s Law driver’s education course before getting their license. Under these new regulations, anyone under the age of 18 will not be issued their initial Class D license without completing the required training.

What Is A Joshua’s Law Course?
A Joshua’s Law course is a teen driver’s education course that is compliant with Joshua’s Law, which states all first-time teenage driver’s between 15 and 16 years old need to complete all training required to earn a Georgia driver’s license. As of July 1, 2021, Joshua’s law is changing the requirements to include 17-year-olds.
