WhiteSands of Tampa – Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol treatment center in Tampa, offers multiple modes of addiction treatment programs in the area of opioids.

In 2017, opioid overdose deaths in the United States reached a record high. Local leaders and mayors throughout the county have been hard at work to determine what is driving the fast rise of opioid mortality in the past twenty years. There have been theories presented from those aggressive Big Pharma marketing to anxiety among Baby Boomers. There is no one-size-fits-all solution on why and how this public health threat manifests itself across the country.

According to WhiteSands’ website the disease of addiction is a chronic and compulsive one; one that requires a series of intense treatment measures in order to successfully overcome. While addiction cannot be ‘cured’, it can be treated with the proper treatment programs. The two main types of treatment programs that patients will attend are inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment. During patients time in one of these programs, they will endure several different kinds of therapies and treatments.

Dr. Brett P. Giroir, MD, the Assistant Secretary for Health of Human and Health Services (HHS) and an admiral in the Commission Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, spoke to physicians attending the AMA National Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. in February of this year.

According to Dr. Giroir, to solve the opioid crises, the pain crises must be addressed, too. The United States had more than 70,237 drug-overdose deaths in 2017, along with 47,600 of those are connected to opioids. What’s more, he also explained that the consumption of opioids, marijuana, and alcohol was rising among pregnant women. Thus, more effects being observed for adults contain many blood-borne infections that lead in more cases of endocarditis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, and joint, bone and skin infections.

Dr. Giroir presented a five-part strategy of HHS that will help fight opioids abuse, overdose, and misuse. It covers better research, targeted distribution of Naloxone, pain management, and collection of data to find out what’s happening and where. Ultimately leading to better prevention, treatment and better access to recovery services. The plan is comprised of offering evidence-based treatment – especially MAT using methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.

WhiteSands of Tampa – Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center strives to present a tailored and comprehensive approach to their addiction treatment and work to deal with the driving force behind the addition of the patient so that they can work toward life-long sobriety with confidence.

“There’s no rehab out there in the United States that I would even suggest you go to besides WhiteSands Treatment,” said Mike on her drug rehab Tampa review.

Medications that help mitigate withdrawal symptoms and have anti-craving qualities can help patients through the treatment and recovery process. Some of these could be suboxone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone, among others. Depending on whether the patient is struggling with opioid addiction, illicit drug addiction, prescription drug addiction, or alcohol, the appropriate medication may be provided.

The drug rehab Tampa offers numerous addiction treatment programs which include inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, detox, alternative drug rehab programs, dual diagnosis treatment, and relapse prevention. Relapse prevention is a plan in which the treatment center employ to help patients in combating off alcohol or drug cravings once they’ve gone through the detox procedure. The relapse prevention plan is to aid the patient to keep long-term sobriety. Their programs are designed based on each individual case so their patients can feel hopeful in their path towards sober living.
