Cardiff International White Water is the UK’s very first on-demand Olympic standard White-Water Rafting and Indoor Wave Facility. Cardiff International White Water (CIWW) is located in the heart of the International Sports Village in Cardiff.
Cardiff International White Water offers white water and flat water fun for all. So if you are considering trying something new and challenging for the first time, or maybe you are thrill seeker who loves adventure, then CIWW is the place for you.
Whether you choose to stay on-site or feed your need for adrenaline with one of our popular off-site activities such as Gorge Walking, to quote Cardiff International White Water, ‘we can guarantee you an unforgettable day out’. Whether you are a thrill-seeker or not, you can be sure CIWW is worth a try.
As mentioned above, CIWW offers white water rafting facilities. The white-water course is 250m long and designed for rafts, canoes and kayaks. There are pumps up to 16 cubic metres of water per second, and then they can alter the flow and water level of the course to cater for beginners and experts.
There is also the indoor wave facility – which from the name itself sounds so exciting. Cardiff International White Water holds an indoor wave simulator machine called Flow Rider. This unique water experience allows you to ride jets of water using a bodyboard. There is also a double lane design which allows two people to bodyboard at the same time, so you can bring your friend along and bodyboard together. A superb facility for anyone interested in trying something new or if you love the thrill of riding waves but not out in the ocean.
Cardiff International White Water offers a great day out for family and friends. It is the perfect way to keep kids engaged and active throughout the year with all the activities CIWW has to offer families both on and off the water, even if a family member or friend has little or no experience with water, thus making it suitable for anyone.
However, if you are supervising your children for the day and not participating, you can enjoy some snacks and beverages at the CIWW café bar.
If you are interested in improving your skills and technique in the water, which will make you a better paddler and you enjoy your favourite sport even more. CIWW is a recognised centre of excellence for training, and they provide courses from our popular Paddle School to the acclaimed Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Cardiff International White Water also offer paddle taster sessions which are a great way to see if an activity ‘floats your boat’ before you decide to book a course.
So, if you’re looking to boost your water rescue training, and have regular access to a confined space training, then Cardiff International White Water should be the first choice. You’ll be happy to hear that they are an accredited professional training provider offering a range of internationally recognised courses.
Cardiff International White Water gives everyone of all ages the chance to learn a new skill, challenge themselves, get active and most importantly, make some fun memories.
